Open Door After-School Program

Our Open Door After-School Program aims to address the needs of refugee and immigrant youth. Youth members come from diverse countries such as Afghanistan, Liberia, Somalia, Colombia, and Vietnam. Open Door provides a place for child victims of trauma and war to share, learn, create, express and heal. Activities include:
  • Art
  • Soccer
  • Creative Writing
  • Dance
  • Music
  • Skill building (cooking, self-defense, etc.)
Youth members also find support from mental health professionals trained to meet their unique needs. The Center's youth programs are open to any refugee or immigrant youth living in the St. Louis area. We provide tranportation for all activities. All of our youth services function out of the St. Pius V school building at 3310 South Grand Boulevard on the corner of South Grand and McKean, across from the Carpenter Library. If you or someone you know is interested in participating in our programs, please call Anne at 314-795-2663 or email her at anne@stlcenterforsurvivors.org.
